my first batteries lasted 4 years and were OK when I had them replaced the 
first time.   When I was in neurosurgeon's office before  my DBS in 2003 
there was a patient whose batteries lasted 7 years for essential tremor.

my concern is as my symptoms worsen is what to do when  I  max out the power 
levels in the batteries.   I've had PD 15 years, DBS for over 7.
