I live in Maryland and I think it is how you do the forms. I applied for my husband more than 15 yr s ago and had
no trouble. He had back surgery. I worked for a Dr for 32 yrs and did those forms. You need to put down everything about you not just
your disease now. Be sure to list every ache and pain and hospitalizations. Keep applying. No lawyers.

People's experience of the disability process seems to be quite variable. I
hink it probably depends a lot on where you are. In New York State it seems
o be almost expected that you will be rejected on the first attempt.

  Parkinsons is one disease they
seem to accept ok. Do not need legal help.

Do not (DO NOT) secure an attorney until you have been denied approval -
here is no case until that time. If you know what to expect up front, you
hould have no trouble. I don't know how you email me offline (private) as
would rather not publicize my email here, but I will be happy to help you.
Each state has Social Security Administration (SSA) employees who will make
n initial judgment on your application - you must dot every "t" and dot
very "i" in order to get past that hurdle.

In general, can a person with Parkinson qualify for disability? Does
 anyone
 ave experience on this issue?
  I
am in my early 60's and find that my Parkinson symptoms are making it
ncreasingly difficult to perform my job satisfactory. Most of the
roblems are not physically visible: tremor is slight, but the toe and
 leg cramps
are often unbearable, good night sleep is rare and thus constant
atigued and depressed. I have worked for the same organization for over 25
ears and paid for disability insurance every pay period. I am trying to
ecide if I qualify to claim disability or if I need to
 take early retirement.
 Thank you for your advice,
 ngie
