Are you sure of the diagnosis? Apart from that, with PD, side effects of meds start taking over but usually after 5-7 years of dopatherapy. But of course, every PWP is different. Weight loss can be a feature of PD, many go through a stage of weight loss. On-Off is also a side effect of dopatherapy but also usually occurs later on. Same goes with breathing dyskinesias, John had them but after about 17 years of PD. Very nasty. If your wife´s symptoms improved after starting sinemet, it is a good sign. that she responds to sinemet but diagnoses can sometimes be difficult to define early on. Make sure you find a good movement disorder specialist and a second opinion can sometimes be helpful Maryse ex-cg for JOhn- 20+ years of PD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
