At the start of any new year one thing is certain: Many people are going to make resolutions to take better care of themselves and pay more attention to their appearance throughout the year.

Let's face it, when you look good, you simply feel better about yourself!

Here are some key grooming and dressing tips that can help you look and feel your best while affording you more time and energy for pursuing your daily activities.

a.. Pour shampoo onto a sponge, and then rub the sponge on your hair. The shampoo is less likely to run into your eyes, and there’s no chance of dropping a slippery bottle in the tub or shower.
b.. Use an electric toothbrush. If you have tremors, brushing your teeth thoroughly with a traditional toothbrush can be difficult. If you prefer the traditional toothbrush, find one with an oversized handle. If you prefer to use an electric toothbrush, know that most have long, easily grasped handles, some are cordless, and some feature dual motion settings. Whichever method you choose, conserve energy by brushing while sitting down and resting your elbow on the counter.
c.. Take the hassle out of finding the right clothing. If shopping for new clothes is overly taxing, call your favorite clothing store and schedule a convenient time when a sales clerk can give you undivided attention.
d.. Choose shirts with multiple colors and patterns. If you tend to spill when eating, most spills won’t show up.
e.. Always dress a weaker limb or stiffer side first. To undress, take the garment off the stronger side first.
f.. Dress in front of a mirror. It will help you find the sleeves and match up buttons and buttonholes. Button garments from the bottom up, so that you’re less likely to skip a button. Or, button the bottom few buttons and put the garment over your head.
