I lost my job due to the recession 2 years ago & it definitely caused my PD to worsen faster. I wonder how many can identify some form of trauma in the few years prior to onset of PD ? I can and I've heard of several others - Ray mentioned overian cancer which must've been traumatic. > Date: Sat, 26 Feb 2011 22:51:48 -0500 > From: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Re: Parkinson's Treatment May Help With Motor Control Function > To: [log in to unmask] > > Steve, > Read where you were wondering what the link is between emotions and severity of symptoms. I am not sure what the link is but there definitely is a correlation. Just from my own personal experience. I was diagnosed at 40 and that was 16 years ago. The first 6-8 years I had very slow progression of pd. Now just within the past couple of years since I quit working I can tell a difference with my emotions and severity of pd. I still am lucky that my progression has not speeded up alot but I have increased wearing off from meds and sometimes alot of dyskinesia. I feel like my anxiety has began and increased quite alot too. Before my diagnosis I was rarely ever anxious that I was aware of. This pd is for the birds, but guess we all do what we have to. > Will close for now.
