The recent scare about someone possibly calling for help got me thinking about alert services. This article seems helpful—this is a commercial site, but I don't see a hard sell here. http://www.lifestation.com/how_choose.php The 911 issue they raise here is interesting. Given that 911 gets overloaded, having a monitoring service could be very helpful. Of course, alert systems only work if you wear the device. My mother's sat in a drawer for years.
