I wanted to enhance our medical insurance (which only covers hospitalisation
costs in India) but Prem's illness falls into the category where they do not
issue policies, even though this is not a life threatening illness. So have
to make do with policies for lesser amounts that date back to a
pre-diagnosis period. As for any kind of help - we have to pay for it
ourselves. There is no scheme that covers that. I am thankful that so far
we are being able to deal with the costs - these are continually going
up.
