Patti great question. my thought is that helping each other is a survival mechanism. and as Maryse points out everyone pays some taxes. A review of history tells us that without health care we have shorter life expectancy, higher infant mortality, more suffering, etc. The Black Death claimed 75-200 million lives, some estimate almost 2/3 of Europe's population. In the modern world life must be awful in parts of Africa. You either think progress is good or bad. I don't want to return to the Stone Age. I also think that college like elementary and high school should be available to all who qualify, the benefit to society is so great. The benefit of "not letting them die" may mean that the human race survives. -----Original Message----- From: mschild Sent: Monday, April 23, 2012 11:19 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: as if > Why should health care be FREE? Free is never free because everyone contributes according to their means. There is also a concept called solidarity. Ever since humans gathered in groups or tribes, they have tried to look after each other. maryse ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
