Dear Senator: By passing AB 1657, California can once again take the lead in advancing medical research. As a former Californian and now a resident of a state fast gaining a reputation for non-progressive legislation, I am more than ever reminded that we all depend on Californians to do the right thing. I think we all have a moral obligation to do what we can to find cures for horrible injuries and diseases. This is especially true when the financial impact is almost non-existent. Having a spinal cord injury is next to being in an iron lung for life. Lets do to this condition what Jonas Salk did to polio.
