Ray and All: Laureen was on the Neupro patch (4 mg) right after her DBS surgery some years back. They worked very well. No side affects. Much safer than pills. Neupro patches seemed to compliment the DBS very well. Then, Neupro pulled the patches from the market, and she went on Requip XL, and was on that until Neupro came back on the market (at least here) in early July. Again, no problems. Everything worked smoothly. For four days. Then Laureen tripped, fell, and broke her hip. The hip was a quick heal, but her PD got sent way back. I mean, way back. Before the fall she could get around with assistance, drive, get in and out of bed, use the bathroom, wash dishes, etc., etc. Now she can do none of those everyday things. Even after a month of daily therapy, she is worse off--in those respects--than she was five weeks ago. Again, the hip is fine. The rest is not. Laureen upped her Neupro patch to 6 mg, just to see if that made any difference. No. Today her neurologist has asked her to go back on Requip for a week--just to see if she notices any improvement, or if the trauma of her fall is what set her back. Basically, though, no problems whatsoever with Neupro. Change your patch once a day, and away you go. No pills. At least, that has been Laureen's experience until now. Be well. Scott Scott E. I know they have to be listed , but I don’t have much luck with meds. Amantadine gave me horrible hallucinations. Hallucinations, bad experience with Amantadine Psychotic behaviors, I value my sanity, about all I have left. Weight gain, have been unable to lose for last 30 years blood pressure elevation, I take BP med daytime sleepiness, I have trouble sleeping at night are a few possible side effects. Does anyone on the List use Neupro patches? I’d be interested in your experiences and if/how it has helped you.
