Sinemet is a dopamine and Requip is a dopamine agonist. Two different meds. Most meds need to be withdrawn slowly including Amantadine. I have been taking Stalevo 100 for a couple of years; still works well. Why doesn't your doctor suggest that? It's levadopa, carbidopa and entacapone. I believe Requip is also used as an add on so I don't understand why he's switching you. I'm certainly no expert but I would question other alternatives. She said that Sinemet was very dangerous to stop without slow titrating down. Seems like I should have been told that when I first was prescribed it. I started on Sinemet in May of 2010 so have been taking it for about 2 years and 3 months.
