Linda,
Take heart and try to see what works best for you. I am now 68, have been on Sinemet (c/l) since 1992.....tried mirapex (sleep attacks, weight gain, edema, lack of good night time sleep). so I stay away from the agonists since 1999. I do still drive, manage the household and most household chores, sew, shop, travel.

Thank you for responding to my post. The doctor feels I am too young to be
on c/l and wants me to try requip. She wants to reserve c/l since it's
usefulness is time limited. I guess hearing that requip is often used as a
duo therapy with c/l relieves me a bit about titrating all the way up before
titrating down on sinemet. I don't think the sinemet has been doing enough
for me or else my PD is advancing much faster than I'd hoped. I am 68 and
have been diagnosed since May of 2010. I began the c/l to maximize my
strength and movement so I could enjoy my new granddaughter and be of more
help to my daughter at that time. Of course, getting off the c/l is a
rather big question mark. Has anyone here done that? What was the result?
