Paula Wittekind, a well known and loved Parkinson's activist passed away last Wednesday, Nov.
8th. She had been diagnosed wirh cancer of the esophagus earlier this year, and she had battled Parkinson's for over 20 years
Paula was a dedicated and tenacious advocate, and she was also my friend.
She was a founding member of the Parkinson Pipeline Project, a state coordinator for PAN
for many years, created the Grassroots Connection website, a thought leader in the online Parkinson's community. Most recently she focused her energies on working with the Parkinson's Creative Collective, an international group of PWP, on a forthcoming patient oriented book about PD -- the Neurowriters guide to the Peripatetic Pursuit of Parkinson Disease. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We are grateful for everything she has done to help her fellow PWP There is more about Paula on the book's website http://www.parkinsonscreativecollective.org/donate.html and her obituary is athttp://www.floridamemorialfh-gardens.com/dm20/en_US/locations/44/4467/index.page linda www.pdpipeline.org
