I am currently on 7 doses a day of 125 mg of Stalevo (one dose every 3 hrs) which allows me to remain basicall "on" for a full work work day as a teacher with a barely tolerable amount of dyskinesea (bouncing left leg). We have tried treating the dyskinesea with Amantadine but have had minimal success. I would like to reduce the dosage of Stalevo but I've had a few crippling dystonia bouts during off-periods at lower dosages. In my case the dystonia hits my good side shoulder and leg muscles, causing painful contractions making it near impossible to walk (much less drive).

My neurologist suggested the use of Apokyn self-administered shots for combatting the dystonia. The major side of effect of nausea and the fact that it is a dopamine agonist are making me question this approach.

Has anyone out there had experience with Apokyn ?

How about any other fast acting medicine to get me out of a dystonia -induced "Freesure" (as my neurologist) calls it ?

Thank you in advance for your time.
