Hi Krystal,

I'd like to attend this seminar in person. Is that possible?

Thanks,
Elisabeth

Subject: SOCAAR Seminar - March 5, 3pm

SOCAAR is pleased to announce the next seminar in our 2013-2014 seminar
series.

Near-road measurement of traffic-related pollutants Dr. Cheol-Heon Jeong
Sr. Research Associate

Jon Wang
Ph.D. Student
Dept. of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry University of
Toronto

Elevated concentrations of traffic-related air pollutants can arise near
major roadways. As a result, living and spending significant time near
major roadways has been identified as a risk factor for a range of
adverse health outcomes; the health of up to 10 million Canadians may be
at risk. A nationwide near roadway monitoring study has been initiated
to better understand the exposure of Canadians to traffic related
pollution. Data from this study will also help resolve the amount of air
pollution arising from Canada's vehicle fleets, by evaluating emissions
from individual vehicles and the resulting diurnal and weekend/weekday
temporal patterns of traffic-related pollutants. In this seminar, the
near-road monitoring network study will be introduced. Initial
measurements of spatial gradients and temporal variations of
traffic-related pollutants and fuel-based emission factors from
individual vehicles will be presented.

March 5, 2014, 3 - 4 pm
Wallberg Building, 200 College Street, Room 407

The seminar will be recorded and posted on the SOCAAR website:
