having a medical emergency on any weekend, but especially a holiday, is
bad luck.
I don't know anything about dyskinesias as I don't take PD meds. Have had
batteries replaced twice since DBS in 2003, once as routine, another when
they died.

let us know outcome. good luck!!

Subject: Re: changing batteries for DBS

Good morning.. It is 4 am and i have been up all night. I had DBS surgery
three years ago and my neurologist told me I needed to get new batteries
before they would run out. So my surgery was yesterday and all went well or
so I thought. I left the hospital feeling pretty good and before I left the
medtronics representative put in the settings I had previously..About 10
last night I started get get dyskinesias in my left leg. Through the night
they got stronger and stronger and into my left arm and hand. Now i know why
I got DBS. Can't believe how bad it is and my meds are doing nothing. Of
course as soon it is morning I am calling the medtronics salesman, my
neurologist and the surgeon. My husband wanted to take me to the ER but
what are the chances that someone can program you there. Plus you don't
have the luxury of moving around. I hope they can fix it. I could not live
the rest of my life like this. MY question is has anyone had a similar
experience
with new batteries? Of course this is a holiday weekend. Hope I can get
someone. ( 62/13.)
Janet

Especially Ray - I know you like travel stuff.

Try this -

English countryside for real, not just the bits we like the tourists to see.

I've watched it twice and am going to watch it again.
