Results from this study\, including diurnal and seasonal patterns and the influence of new particle formation and growth events on the size distrib ution\, will be discussed. The site is representative of a wide region of the Midwestern U.S. and is home to many long-term monitoring stations of N ASA\, NOAA\, and the US EPA\, including a 20+ year record of particle numb er concentration and aircraft vertical profiles of optical properties\, nu mber concentration and particle number size distribution. Ongoing efforts to model the number size distribution and cloud nuclei concentration using nucleation explicit WRF-Chem will be presented.\n\nIn a second portion of the talk\, the University of Iowa Aerosol Screening Model (ASM)\, a physi cally-based vehicular UFP model for use in near-road environments\, is eva luated versus 11 sites in the Los Angeles area and used to examine sensiti vity of ultrafine aerosols to road types\, road proximity\, and vehicle cl ass.\n\n\n\nIf you are unable to join us for the seminar in person\, we wi ll be broadcasting the presentations live during the seminar using GoToMee ting software. Please feel free to join us online using a web-browser or b y calling in and using the webviewing software. If you do decide to join u s\, please remember to mute your microphone. If you have any questions du ring the meeting you are welcome to contact me by email\, or by using the GoToMeeting chat.\nInstructions on how to connect:\nUsing your web-browser or smartphone\nhttps://global.gotomeeting.com/join/790922341\n\nBy teleph one\nDial +1 (647) 497-9376\nAccess Code: 790-922-341\nAudio PIN: Shown af ter joining the meeting\n\nMeeting ID: 790-922-341\n\n\n SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-US:SOCAAR Seminar - Presenter Dr. Charles Stanier DTSTART;TZID=Eastern Standard Time:20141216T140000 DTEND;TZID=Eastern Standard Time:20141216T150000 UID:040000008200E00074C5B7101A82E0080000000030F47DEA140FD001000000000000000 010000000072A6F9207B1ED42AC54DCEE7B1B5C68 CLASS:PUBLIC PRIORITY:5 DTSTAMP:20141204T145929Z TRANSP:OPAQUE STATUS:CONFIRMED SEQUENCE:0 LOCATION;LANGUAGE=en-US:WB 407 - 200 College Street X-MICROSOFT-CDO-APPT-SEQUENCE:0 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-OWNERAPPTID:585418718 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-BUSYSTATUS:TENTATIVE X-MICROSOFT-CDO-INTENDEDSTATUS:BUSY X-MICROSOFT-CDO-ALLDAYEVENT:FALSE X-MICROSOFT-CDO-IMPORTANCE:1 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-INSTTYPE:0 X-MICROSOFT-DISALLOW-COUNTER:FALSE BEGIN:VALARM ACTION:DISPLAY DESCRIPTION:REMINDER TRIGGER;RELATED=START:-PT15M END:VALARM END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
