“doors can close” - and how ! I was talking to a potential employer on the phone. He was quite enthusiastic till I told him about my PD, then (within seconds) - “no vacancies available at this tome, we’ll let you know”. I tried a fitness class. After the teacher found I had PD, she disinfected her hands after I gave her the money for the class - I would’ve explained but there’s no point when someone is panicking. I wish that between the time I first considered the possibility of Parkinson's and the time my PD diagnosis was confirmed, I had paid attention to what a diagnosis could mean in terms of insurance eligibility, employment issues, and the like. Once you have an official diagnosis of Parkinson's, doors can close.
