The focus i s on studies on air quality monitoring\, and on the development of statist ical models to predict ground-level air pollutants in the São Paulo Metro politan Area\, and in surrounding industrial sites.\nAmong the statistical models\, neural networks and other pattern recognition techniques have be en fit to historical air quality data to predict ozone levels in different areas of the São Paulo Metropolitan Area\, and have been implemented by the local control authority.\nResearch results will also be shown on the a pplication of optical remote sensing techniques (Lidar) to monitor industr ial atmospheric emissions of pollutants .\n\n\n\nIf you are unable to join us for the seminar in person\, we will be broadcasting the presentations live during the seminar using GoToMeeting software.
