good idea, Trauti, I've already emailed my neuro. he does research at the Barrow Institute. If it was affordable we could try it. I take isradipine, a bp med being used in a phase 111 PD trial. it costs something like $60 for 3 mo supply; this cost of $10,000/mo really shocked me. I knew that rare diseases are expensive to treat, but Dr.Brian Druker got a NIH grant to develop this cancer drug. PD is not a rare disease either. I wrote to Dr. Pagan to see if I can determine who at Novartis he is contacting to try to get lower costs for his trial participants. If I find out I think we should all make an effort to contact Novartis. I know I will. -----Original Message----- From: Trauti Boyd Sent: Monday, October 19, 2015 3:45 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: survival rates ray, i guess all that can be done right now is check if your local facility intends to participate in upcoming trials. i know i will check with my husband's neuro at duke trauti ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rayilyn Brown" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Monday, October 19, 2015 1:28 AM Subject: survival rates >I also learned that cancer survival rates are lower in the US than in >Sweden, India and other places where drug costs are not immoral. > > I knew the drug companies were screwing us. but this really brings it > home. > > Ray > Rayilyn Brown > Past Director AZNPF > Arizona Chapter National Parkinson Foundation > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: > mailto:[log in to unmask] > In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
