Diane’s husband has PD. her response is great and so true.

It is certainly true that celebrities have better financial means than most of us to deal with this disease. I also agree that I have an existence not a life.

Also I might add that such positive accounts can make those of us that don’t do so well feel it is somehow our fault. The first thing many well people want to know is “how is his/her” attitude when faced with a serious health issue. Positive being “good”; anger being “bad”. Well, I have a bad attitude and get angry and depressed.

I agree Ray. There is NOTHING positive about this disease! Some people have more challenges than others, but no one is the better for it. Some live a longer time than others - all live, for however long, with increasing restrictions that eventually leave many wondering how their existence can be considered 'living'. And, lastly, most people do not have the financial resources to handle their condition as successfully as these celebrities.

The Honeymoon period

Altho Alda does acknowledge all PWPs are different, its nice that after only 3 years he still has a “full life”. After 4 years I took my niece to Egypt and we walked through temples, etc.I know some people after 3 years or 5 are worse off than me at almost 23 years now. also there was one woman on this list who after 30 years still benefitted from Sinemet.

Altho it is good to be positive, I don’t think presenting this disease as a lucky challenge like Fox does helps our cause or as

Alda does. PD takes your life sooner or later. Putting a rosy face on it minimizes its destructive power.
