Second Call for Proposals
Textual/discourse genres, language practices, and voices from the South in a dialogue
1. SUBMISSION DEADLINE for Thematic Symposia Proposals EXTENDED
The organizing committee has extended the deadline for the submission of proposals
The NEW SUBMISSION DEADLINE for Thematic Symposia is Frebruary 15, 2019 [There will be no third call for symposia. Only for papers ]
2. Thematic groups
SIGET X accepts symposia proposals on the following themes:
● Genres and Teaching/Learning;
● Genres and Teacher Education;
● Genres and Multimodality/Multiliteracy;
● Genres and Digital Technologies;
● Genres and Professional Activities;
● Genres and Literature/Means of Communication;
● Genres and Language Description;
● Methods of Genre Analysis;
● Genres and Translation/Interpretation of Sign Language.
3. Submission Guidelines for Thematic Symposia Proposals
● The proposals (abstracts) for Thematic Symposia must be submitted by email sent to the following address:

● Please save your Thematic Symposium proposal as an MSWord file and attach it to the email
● The name of the proposal file must contain the last names of all symposium organizers, for example: sosa_pérez_comelli
● Please specify the selected thematic group in the subject line of your email Formatting Requirements Please include the following in your MSWord file:
● Name of the Thematic Group to which the proposal is submitted
● Title of the proposed Thematic Symposim
● Names and academic affiliations of the Thematic Symposium organizers (no more than three organizers per symposium)
● The Thematic Symposium abstract (300-400 words)
● Keywords (three to five) Please note that
● One can be an organizer for one Thematic Symposium only
● Thematic Symposia can be presented in Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, English and German ● Thematic Symposia proposals will be evaluated by the SIGET X Scientific Committee
● Once approved, the selected Thematic Symposia will be published together with a CALL FOR PROPOSALS for presentations to be included in each of the Thematic Symposia
One Thematic Symposium can include 3 to 15 presentations
One can submit only one presentation proposal for one Thematic Symposium
● The coordinators of each approved Thematic Symposium, together with the SIGET X organizing committee, will be in charge of evaluating the presentation proposals submitted to their symposium
