Dear Colleagues,

OCAD University (OCAD U) is currently seeking an English Language Learning Specialist to develop and deliver curricular and co-curricular language learning programs and resources, deliver research-driven faculty professional learning, and work directly with ELL students. This role is part of a team of staff delivering non-credit, co-curricular and curricular English Language Learning programs at OCAD University, in collaboration with the Faculties and academic support units, and as guided by OCAD U’s English Language Learning (ELL) Program Development Strategy<https://www.ocadu.ca/Assets/content/teaching-learning/WLC/ELL+Undergraduate+Program+Development+at+OCAD+University.pdf>.

Our English Language Learning programs are located within the Writing & Learning Centre (WLC) which is co-located and collaborates closely with the Faculty & Curriculum Development Centre (FCDC). Together, the WLC and FCDC are responsible for programming and cross-campus educational initiatives that support teaching and learning and the student experience at OCAD U. Our centre takes a collegial approach to our work, grounded in collaboration and relationship-building, and we strive to integrate our commitments to equity, access and decolonization throughout the different areas of our mandates. We are looking for someone who shares these commitments and has strong experience designing writing and language learning programs for multilingual students, ideally with experience in studio-based art and design education (although experience with other creative disciplines such as music and theatre is also an asset).

This is a permanent role within our centre and presents an exciting opportunity to facilitate growth and change in the area of English Language Learning at OCAD University, and contribute in meaningful ways to advancing our Academic Plan<https://www.ocadu.ca/about/governance/VP-academic-and-provost/academic-plan-2017-2022.htm>. Please feel free to contact either me ([log in to unmask])<mailto:[log in to unmask])> or Susan Ferguson, Director ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) with questions about the role.

Further details can be found here: https://trr.tbe.taleo.net/trr01/ats/careers/v2/viewRequisition?org=OCADU&cws=37&rid=1764

The deadline is Friday, November 15.

Best,
Emilie
