Asthma disproportionately impacts low-socioeconomic communities due to poor quality housing associat ed with mold and moisture exposure. One of the main exposures to mold in h ousing is through the resuspension of floor dust. Microbes grow in carpet dust at elevated relative humidity conditions and release microbial volati le organic compounds (mVOCs). However\, we do not know how the influence o f moisture may drive species composition and chemical emissions from micro bes in dust and on common building materials. Understanding these interact ions in the indoor environment is the next frontier in environmental engin eering and has the potential to lead to substantial improvements in public health. Utilizing cutting edge techniques\, my work has ranged from colle cting dust in carpet from homes in Ohio to analyzing dust particles from t he International Space Station. Ultimately\, results from my work have dem onstrated that microbial growth can be quantitatively modeled in buildings \, and for the first time demonstrated interactions between chemicals and microbes in house dust under elevated relative humidity conditions. My fut ure work will link climate change\, social justice\, and viruses to contri bute to healthy indoor environments.\n\n\n\n\n\n__________________________ ______________________________________________________\nMicrosoft Teams me eting\nJoin on your computer or mobile app\nClick here to join the meeting \nOr call in (audio only)\n+1 647-794-1609\,\,69169 1226# Canada\, Toronto\nPhone Conference ID: 691 691 226#\nFind a local number | Reset PIN\nLearn More | Meeting options[log in to unmask]&messageId=0&language=en-US>\n_________________________ _______________________________________________________\n\n UID:040000008200E00074C5B7101A82E0080000000000C026AE7D27D801000000000000000 01000000090A90EE15A61DE4AADDFB9AE2251E464 SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-US:SOCAAR Seminar 2022 - Sarah Haines DTSTART;TZID=Eastern Standard Time:20220302T150000 DTEND;TZID=Eastern Standard Time:20220302T160000 CLASS:PUBLIC PRIORITY:5 DTSTAMP:20220222T135032Z TRANSP:OPAQUE STATUS:CONFIRMED SEQUENCE:0 LOCATION;LANGUAGE=en-US:Microsoft Teams Meeting X-MICROSOFT-CDO-APPT-SEQUENCE:0 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-OWNERAPPTID:1045833702 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-BUSYSTATUS:TENTATIVE X-MICROSOFT-CDO-INTENDEDSTATUS:BUSY X-MICROSOFT-CDO-ALLDAYEVENT:FALSE X-MICROSOFT-CDO-IMPORTANCE:1 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-INSTTYPE:0 X-MICROSOFT-SKYPETEAMSMEETINGURL:https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/ 19%3ameeting_ODI4OTU5MGYtMTlmMi00ZDUwLTg5YjEtOWJiOGEzMTMxY2Ex%40thread.v2/ 0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%2278aac226-2f03-4b4d-9037-b46d56c55210%22%2c%22O id%22%3a%2276a2f469-c5cc-446a-8132-c4bf6f5856ed%22%7d X-MICROSOFT-SCHEDULINGSERVICEUPDATEURL:https://api.scheduler.teams.microsof t.com/teams/78aac226-2f03-4b4d-9037-b46d56c55210/76a2f469-c5cc-446a-8132-c 4bf6f5856ed/19_meeting_ODI4OTU5MGYtMTlmMi00ZDUwLTg5YjEtOWJiOGEzMTMxY2Ex@th read.v2/0 X-MICROSOFT-SKYPETEAMSPROPERTIES:{"cid":"19:meeting_ODI4OTU5MGYtMTlmMi00ZDU [log in to unmask]"\,"private":true\,"type":0\,"mid":0\," rid":0\,"uid":null} X-MICROSOFT-ONLINEMEETINGCONFLINK:conf:sip:[log in to unmask]\;gru u\;opaque=app:conf:focus:id:teams:2:0!19:meeting_ODI4OTU5MGYtMTlmMi00ZDUwL Tg5YjEtOWJiOGEzMTMxY2Ex-thread.v2!76a2f469c5cc446a8132c4bf6f5856ed!78aac22 62f034b4d9037b46d56c55210 X-MICROSOFT-DONOTFORWARDMEETING:FALSE X-MICROSOFT-DISALLOW-COUNTER:FALSE X-MICROSOFT-LOCATIONS:[{"DisplayName":"Microsoft Teams Meeting"\,"LocationA nnotation":""\,"LocationUri":""\,"LocationStreet":""\,"LocationCity":""\," LocationState":""\,"LocationCountry":""\,"LocationPostalCode":""\,"Locatio nFullAddress":""}] BEGIN:VALARM DESCRIPTION:REMINDER TRIGGER;RELATED=START:-PT15M ACTION:DISPLAY END:VALARM END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
