The only name of a fool I've encountered recently is in the account of an allegedly libellous play we will be printing in our REED: Shropshire collection (ed Alan Somerset, to appear in 1994). We've got the accounts of both the people who claim to have been libelled and the accused players. The latter say that one of the characters in their play was called 'Ioculus, a foole.' Unfortaunately they don't tell us very much else about the play..... Abigail
