I have just started reading the board and wish to say thank you for
the Jan 31 article. Much of the material was new to me. I knew of
the work in Mexico & the work that went into the instrument used for
the transplants but had no idea a CA hospital would go to China to do
their basic work. Hope to see some opinions on board of how people
would feel in taking part in CO work currently. I am a care giver and
feel very fortunate that we live in Midland and only have to drive 115
miles to Lubbock TX for outstanding care in the Tarbox ( named for
senator who had Parkinsons and funded the clinic) Parkinson's
Institute at Lubbock General Hospital in Lubbock. Care if handled
with an appointment every 3 months and each appointment takes most of
an hour. Some items that surprised me on board was when I called the
800 number for inf. about food supplements a name and address of a
doctor was required. No problem just surprised. I would not have
thought about cutting a controlled release tablet in half. However if
instructed to do so I guess I would ask first if it would still be
effective and then do it. Currently at Tarbox the idea is that new
medications are just around the bend. If anyone has specific questions
about this facility I will try and answer them. It is nice to know you
are all out there. In my opinion an hour nap after lunch is very
effective and of course exercise is very important be it walking or
water exercise just good to keep moving and it is also good for the
care giver. nbaker1
