Dear Bob: Parkinson's Disease presented as "frozen" shoulder and not knowing
had PD I was treated for arthritis, capsulitus, sprain, and overuse (I had a
big unruly dog who pulled me all over town). After several months of
treatment with a physical therapist - range of motion, heat, and ultrasound -
and no results, I tried massage 2-3X a week and was "cured" in a month. I'm
sure it simply was PD dystonia. Six+ years and no recurrence - knock on
wood.

In my opinion, the best exercises for PD are water exercises in a warm pool -
about 10 minutes of ROM - and walking. Stress is what tightens us up more
than we need to be. Avoid STRESS.
