To Barbara Yacos and others: I would like very much to know how the operation "improved the quality of life" for you. What did the operation mainly accomplish in this regard? Tremor is still a major problem for me; actually taking medications is the real issue. Just when I was getting to a therapeutic dose of Sinemet, old problems surfaced. The neurologist had me drop back two of my famous quarter doses. Again, I ran into what he thinks are heart symptoms. I was hospitalized for that before in Anchorage. The heart medicines aggravate Parkinson's and vice versa. Not an easy solution. I have been off all heart medication for about two years and doing fine in that regard supposedly until now. Bother! Also, a long time ago I read about genetic engineering for PD involving skin cells. Does anyone out there know about that? Lucile [log in to unmask]
