Gaylord: Thank you for all the information about depression and medications. When I talked to my family dr. about having problems sleeping, she mentioned depression as a possible cause. She also said that it would be very unusual if I weren't depressed. Besides my friend being murdered in January, there have been several serious illnesses in my family so far this year. Also, a 25-year old graduate student at McMaster was murdered in her on-campus residence last week. The city of Hamilton had 3 murders all of last year and 6 so far this year...2 of them involving women from McMaster. Anyway, I've started taking a very small dose of amitriptylene and am sleeping better. The dose is so small that there shouldn't be many side effects (fingers crossed).
