Re: fava beans and eldepryl Diet sheet given by neurologist when eldepryl was first prescribed specifically warns against fava beans along with alcohol, cheese, sauerkraut, chocolate, aged meat, etc. Interaction can cause "a medical emergency" later identified as extremely high blood pressure. Apparently, this warning is not issued to everyone, so check with M.D. or pharmacist. The issue needs to be clarified. Lucile RWright
