Those going on to the Plays and other events in York following the
International Medieval Congress at Leeds may like to know of the
Medieval Events Weekend, 8-10 July 1994, organised by Rachel Semlyen
and Associates in conjunction with the Friends of York Festival,
York Visitor and Conference Bureau and the International medieval
Congress. Participants have various choices of private guided
visits to places of historic interest (including Barley Hall, the
restored 15th-century town house of Alderman William Snawsell, Lord
Mayor in 1468), a guided walk through the less well-known old areas
of York, and a concert and early instrument exhibition in the Early
Music Festival. Finally, seats at the Mystery Plays can be booked
as part of the weekend package. This is a varied and exciting
series of events, many of which are not otherwise available to the
public, put together in especially for those with medieval
interests.
Parties are catered for, as are special dietary and other needs.
Registration continues until 1 June for visitors from abroad, so
BE QUICK!!
