I would like to add my thanks to Bob's for Don's excellent posting about
pallidotomies. Coincidently, someone had asked me what a pallidotomy was just
hours before I read Don's message. I forwarded his message to her and she
was impressed with the quality and range of information available via this
discussion list. Thank you, Don, for the information.

Now for the etc. part. I mentioned a while ago that I had noticed that my
foot was twisting. My md and I had tried lowering the dose of Sinemet
from 3 a day to 2...after a day or two, my hand started shaking so we
tried increasing the Amitryptiline....no change except that my mouth is
frequently as dry as sandpaper. Now I have started physiotherapy and, on
the advice of both my md and physiotherapist, I have started using a cane
to keep from re-irritating my knee. :(

Now for my questions.

1. Has anyone any suggestions, other than the ones listed above, to deal
with the foot-twisting?

2. Is it the Amitryptiline that is giving me such a bad taste in
my mouth? I take it about 7:30 pm and about 7:00 am I take the Sinemet
and Deprinyl. About 10:30 am, I start to get a disgusting taste in my
mouth. Brushing my teeth and/or using mouthwash helps for a little while,
as does eating an apple, but the taste comes back. In the evening, I'm
not bothered by it. I realize this is a very minor problem compared to
most, but it is annoying.
