Hello Jack. Welcome to the list. I have been asking similar questions. My Mother is also 70 and has of late become more confused and having memory difficulty. I, too, learned of the palloditomy from this list, and told her about it. She had reached the point of desperation, and wanted to do "something". I learned of the Parkinson Referral Center at Boston U. Med. Center and we took her down last Monday. We are hopeful that this will result in some relief for her through at least adjustment of her present meds. and possibly introduction of some new ones. The surgery hasn't been mentioned as an option as yet, but we do go back Oct. 3 for more evaluation. I would recommend finding a center where there are some experts in the PD field who could evaluate his situation. I know there are such experts in Boston at BUMC, but I don't know about your area.
