Several correspondents (David Ambuel and Don Penny) have raised
questions concerning low blood pressure in PD, and the postural
dizziness that seems to occur in such people. If there is no
contraindication to such (like congestive heart failure), raising of
the salt intake of the diet may help. In addition, there is a
steroid hormone called Florinef (a derivative of a natural substance)
that causes retention of salt (obviously not good for people with
certain types of heart disease) which can help. I have some vague
recollection, also, of Ephedrine being used for this, but have no
experience with such.
