To Celia: PD can be caused by a virus. The flu virus from the 1918
Pandemic caused a lot of people (now in their eighties) to develop
PD at an early age (it was caused "post-encephalitic Parkinsonism");
and there are other viruses today that can do this. Chemicals have
also been implicated, one of these being a "recreational" drug
called MDMA ("Ecstasy"). As to pesticides, this is also a possibility
and I would suggest that you find out what chemicals were used on
your termite work and then check with a university center about
whether those chemicals have been reported to be involved with PD.
