Alan Bonander: Thanks for alerting us about the PD segment on TV Good Morning America re Terri Wenc and fetal implant. Her's is good news, however I believe most implants show only modest improvement. The other problems are a poor survival of the grafted cells (5 - 15 percent) and the number of fetuses needed per patient (6 - 8). A couple of scientists at Harvard are trying cross species neural implants on non-human primates. If that works we might one day get pig nigral cells just as readily as we get pig heart valves now.
