I am the person who wrote into the bulletin board about hallucinations. I
want to thank everyone for your assistance. Mel (my father-in-law) also
wants to thank you. What I did not mention was that besides the
hallucinations, he was also experiencing general weakness, and "fogginess"
(He was "not with it" anymore). Ordinarily he is a very sharp individual.
He had two neurologists and one internist decide on therapy. One
neurologist said to raise the dose of eldepryl and sinemet. The internist
and the other neurologist said to discontinue the eldepryl. Within hours of
discontinuing the eldepryl his mental fogginess started to clear, and he
began taking an active role in his life again. I have since been advised
that sudden cessation of the eldepryl was a no-no (but his dose was low).
He is still experiencing some minor hallucinations, but after being able to
read your responses, he realizes that he is not alone. Interestingly, the
neurologists who knew about the proper treatment of Parkinsonism said that
small furry animals are the most common hallucination. Eldepryl is the most
common trigger.

Thanks again
