>Dear Barbara,

Thank you for your friendly welcome. I am new to messaging, and I trust
you and your subscribers will bear with me if I commit any faux-pas, or worse.

I look after my wife, Margaret, who has had PD for about 25 years or so.
She was first diagnosed in her late 30's but has been severely incapacitated
only for the last five years or so. This occurred after suffering several
falls that immobilised her in hospital for lengthy periods, but the falls
themselves resulted from PD which has adversely affected both her mobility
and her balance.

I suppose one could say that I have joined the list for her sake as much as
for mine as she is no longer capable of mastering the mechanics of typing
and mailing. I guess our chief interest will be in seeing how other
severely afflicted people manage to cope with the difficulties and
frustrations of every-day living and in benefitting from their experiences.

Ultimately we may gain enough confidence and expertise to share some of our
own knowledge, but not yet!
For the time being we will simply watch and learn.

Regards,
Mark.
