Dear Barbara:  I agree with everything you have said.  Please note
my (long) post to the List today, this a review of literature on
pallidotomy and my comments.  As to the economics of medicine, we
are in danger of having our system dismantled in the name of
"cost control" (which is needed, but which should *not* be "managed"
by the insurance companies).  People who sometimes object to
Government running the "show" (as in the proposed "Single-Payer
Initiative" here in California) protest that creating a "Health
Commissioner" places a lot of power into that person's hands.  They
are correct; but that commissioner is *elected* and thus, is
responsive to the voters; how many CEO's of insurance companies are
responsive to the policyholders?
