Sergio: Am I sorry I had a Pallidotomy last year? NO. It was painless, not
stressful, done quickly, and for eight months I was flying high. Then my old
gait and balance problems started creeping back in - although I am not
falling as pre-pall. On the positive side the dystonias are gone. You will
appreciate that aspect.
Of course my cheering of how well I am coping with PD is tempered by the
severe case of Ekbom (RLS) which progresses and so far only Sinemet helps.
I don't want to end up taking a ton of Sinemet treating two separate
diseases. Would that some of the old wives' remedies like horsetail grass or
quinine would work. I am researching Permax as a treatment but so far am not
impressed. Especially since no one is messaging a positive answer to my
question - who is using Permax for Ekbom and is it working?
So far I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I read recently that
marijuana is being tried to relieve some symptoms of multiple sclerosis. I
think some doctors are permitted to use this drug in some difficult eye
disease cases. I have a difficult neurological condition so I wonder if I
can claim equal treatment!
