It is worthwhile to note the number of children of persons with Parkinson's seeking information on-line. You have an obligation to help your parent on an individual basis, but you also have added incentive to improve future treatment. Current research indicates hereditary factors are involved in the causation of at least some cases of PD. If that's not enough, environmental toxins have also been implicated. This makes PD a real concern for the general population but potentially avoidable if these toxins are indentified. PD is poorly understood by the public and so receives inadequate funding for research and treatment.
