I distinctly remember promising in November that I would send these out soon, and in editing I noticed that they had been accumulating since the summer.... Mea culpa. Many thanks to all who sent in biographical sketches. A reminder to those under the Old Dispensation that we would be please and happy to receive one from you at any time. I was particularly struck when I was editing by the diversity here, not simply in the people, who are a wonderful mix of traditional academic, new academic, and non-academic, but also by the diversity of response. I think one reason for our personal diversity is that REED-L has been listed in several published Internet Guides (I only directly contributed a listing ot one of them, but I think they borrow from one another). The sketches ranged from formal to informal, impersonal to chatty, long to brief. As always, I tried to let everyone speak in his or her own way, mainly just lopping off headers and making sure everyone's message ended with (at a minimum) his or her name and electronic address.
