I cannot comment on the eldepryl, but I have seen people who
get the "tightening in the throat" symptom. If this
feeling is intermittent, and appears to be related to
his drug cycle, this may be a mild sort of dyskinesia of the
larynx. In fact, someone else on this list discussed this
problem not too long ago. It is probably not related to his
arthritis, and perhaps not to his Parkinson's disease, per
se. Instead, it may be related to the medications. The 2
people I know who have had this problem had their
medications adjusted (reduction in Sinemet), and the
laryngospasms went away. I hope this information helps.
