Too much fanfare for something that has been 'out there' for several months, slowly taking shape? Probably. But if you haven't visited the CCCC95 web pages recently, you haven't seen their (relatively) mature look. There have been a number of additions and a few cosmetic tweaks (several of which are made possible by Netscape's new browser, 1.1b1--use it if you got it). Among the additions: * The Program * A nearly complete version of the program book that includes convention information, workshop and session schedules, presenter names, session titles, activities and special events, meetings, cover art, acknowledgements. * More Abstracts * More than 40 session abstracts representing the work of about 100 presenters is now available (and more continue to arrive). Several of the texts are complete papers, and at least one is a hypertext version. * More Related Business * The program for the May Computers and Writing Conference is now available, as well as information about the CCCC Winter Workshop and calls for submissions to two electronic journals. * Computer Connection * There is now a list of demonstrations and consultants who will be available at the Computer Connection (formerly the Software Sampler). -----=-----=-----=-----=-----=----- More Realtime Conversations! The next MOOsession will be Monday evening at DaedalusMOO (logos.daedalus.com 7777 or visit the CCCC95 Online Realtime web page and follow the link marked by the cow image). This meeting will be another open forum, but topics might include generating ideas for the 5th C (computers) SIG search for key issues, the political implications and possibilities presented by holding the convention in D.C., or anything else that comes to mind. Another realtime session has been scheduled for April 3. It will be a chance to learn more about Pre/Text's online incarnation, the Pre/Text Conversation, and about Alternative Educational Environments, a project lead by Pre/Text editor Victor Vitanza as well as Cynthia Haynes-Burton, Jim Sosnoski, David Downing, and Charles Stivale. Date, time, and place tentatively set for Monday, April 3, 8:00 p.m. EST, at LinguaMOO, mohawk.utdallas.edu 7777. More information to follow. -----=-----=-----=-----=-----=----- Comments, please! We hope that CCCC Online will continue (and grow) as a part of CCCC's annual convention, but to insure that it does, and to improve how it serves the organization, we need feedback from those who have used any aspect of it. Please take a minute, when you can, to write a brief not to [log in to unmask] and say what your impression of the online resources were and how you think they might be improved. Thanks! --Eric Crump
