Belated thanks to all those who pointed me to articles on the historical roots of Canadian and American commposition/rhetoric programs. Henry Hubert's article in Inkshed's Social Reflections on Writing provided the info I needed and got me thinking again about these contexts we are in institutionally. I'm glad I re-discovered the book on my dusty bookshelf and am reading the other articles with pleasure as well. Thanks all! Mary Mar
