Thanks to the cooperation of the Department of Neurology, and specially to
Dr. Anne Young (Chief of Neurology) there soon will be a WWW site devoted
exclusively for the purpose of providing information about PD.

Because the World Wide Web (WWW) supports graphics, our PD WWW will feature
images of the brain, depictions of the various medications, FAQs, phone
numbers for support groups, mail order discount pharmacies, research news
etc. I will not know until March 13th how many megabytes will be available to
us.

Please note that this WWW site is NOT and will NOT take the place of the
newsgroup. Here is where we discuss late-breaking news, exchange views and
solicit and offer guidance.

In contrast the WWW is meant to be more like a library where you can access
information about PD research centers, PD resource groups, and information
about medications and surgical procedures.

This is a major task and it will not come into being as a completed site. It
is, in fact, a site that will be constructed over time. For that reason, I
should like to begin by laying the foundation upon which we can build a
robust information depository.

This WWW site is meant to serve PD folks around the globe. So I strongly urge
our many friends in the Netherlands, England, Canada, Israel, France,
Australia, India, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Italy .... to join the
effort in building an electronic clearinghouse of PD information.

I would welcome any and all of the following:

1) Suggested topics (please prioritize)

2) Text and or graphic files of articles that you wish to submit
(Note: Those of you on AOL can attach these files with an e-mail msg to me.
Please let me know in the body of the lessage what file formats you have
enclosed. Please use some kind of compression. AOL supports StuffIt.
Note 2: Those of you accessing this newsgroup who are not with AOL can send
enclosed files to me at:[log in to unmask]

3) People who can format this material using HTML (Hypertext Markup
Language). Please drop me a note so that I can send you material to work on.

I will send an announcement to this group when the site becomes available. I
expect it will be around June.

I am very excited that people around the world with PD, and people who are
interested in PD will join together to build a PD database to serve our own
cause.

Thank you for your interest and your cooperation.
