     ***** Hello *****
My name is Joel Cooper and my father has been diagnosed with PD.
I have been printing messages from this list for him for about a week.

As his disease progresses, he is becoming more concerned the side
effects of his prescriptions. He has been employed in the
pharmaceutical business for over 20 years, so he reads a lot of
medical journals. He asked me to ask the members of this list about a
     particular medicine.

In the December 1993 issued of NEUROLOGY (1993;43:2587-2590), in an
article entitled "Cabergoline in Parkinson's disease: Long-term
follow-up" by G. Lera, MD; J. Vaamonde, MD; M. Rodriguez, MD; and J.A.
Obeso, MD, the article abstract states that "we treated 36 patients
with motor fluctuations and dyskinesias on chronic levodopa therapy
with cabergoline (CBG) once a day for a mean period of 14.2 += 5.8
months. There was a significant increase in the "on" hours and a
     reduction in "off-period" dystonia."

Does anyone have any comments about CBG? Does anyone have any
experience or information about it? Pros and con? Side effects? In
advance, thank you for your help. (Mail is welcome through the list or
     direct.)
