There has been a number of messages indicating that the age of the
patient could indicate that treatment "should not be worried about" or
similar sentiments.
 
I take exception to this.  The age of patient can be a factor but in
addition how much more life is there.  If a person is in the 70's with
only PD a life expectency of 20-30 years is not unreasonable and concern
for "long term" is very clearly needed.
 
An individual with multiple diseases in there 40's engaging is behavior
that increases risk (either medical or personal) may have a short
lifespan and no "long term" is needed.
 
I take exception to suggestions that any individual is too old to worry
about the future.
