Some one asked about a connection between
prozac(fluoxetine) and P.D.THere was an article entitled
"increase of Parkinson Disability after Fluoxetine
Medication" by J.Steur in the journal "Neurology" on page
211.I think it was around Feb.1993.The author reported
increased motor disability in four patients with idiopathic
P.D.after exposure to prozac.
Prozac is a serotonin (5-hydroxtryptamine,5-HT)
reuptake inhibitor,it blocks the uptake of serotonin by the
neurons that release this neurotransmitter.I believe 5-HT
gives you a feeling of well-being.
