Hello,

My name is Louise Harrell. I have been a member on the list for about a
month and I really would like to thank everyone for all the information. I
don't have PD, but owner of the company I work for does. She is 72 and has
been diagnosed with PD for about 4 years now. When she was first diagnosed
and given PD med's, there was improvement but know she seems to be
deteriorating with time. She feels this I know because when all the articles
started hitting the papers last month about pallidotomy, her remark was she
would try anything rather than live this way. What I'm looking for now is a
neurologist who specializes in PD in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. Not
all neurologist know much about PD other than to prescribe the med's. The
follow up is - Oh do you feel worse, or Oh do you have side effects from the
medications - Well, that's only natural. I would like to find her a doctor
who understands as much about Parkinson's as the people on this list do. In
the four years she's known of this disease, we've learned more in the one
month on the list. I'm even sending information to her current neurologist,
and from what I know so far he's the only one in Baton Rouge who lists
himself as specializing in PD. Anyway, thanks so much for all you help. And
if anyone does know of a specialist in my area please let me know.

Grateful,

Louise Harrell
